StripGenerator: Naked Comicversations
Hat tip to OrangePly's dev blog for exposing me to StripGenerator, a handy blog comic strip generation tool. I have no idea whether there's a business here, but the design and implementation were terrific. Pick from dozens of characters and objects, and let speech/thought bubbles do the talking. I'd love if there were easier embed options and sound elements to set the tone. This is great for those days when you don't have much to blog about, but you still want to put a smile on your reader's face...

Ha! Great comic Dan, you look like someone from MIB.
Hey Dan,
I checked out the StripGenerator and set myself up with one too.
Hey Dan!
Thanks for mentioning Stripgenerator. We appreciate it very much! :)
We 're not funded, we made this app for fun, got some great feedback and decided to make something more of it.
Currently we 're at the beginning of development and have some bigger plans for the future releases, like bitmap export, blog embed options ...
If you have any other suggestions for improvement, we 'd love to hear it and make it happen. :)
Bostjan -- thanks for stopping by! You've done a great job so far. My biggest suggestions would be around simplified embedding so you can grow virally, quickly.
Like WebKinz, you may also look into a display option that turns the strip into a slideshow/movie and adding background sound capability. That allows someone to create a mini-movie with your strip characters/scenes. You might even get the results pushed to YouTube regularly. You'd be surprised how the story jumps out when characters can wiggle/express and music drives emotion (humor, fear etc.).
Good luck and keep us posted on new features!!!
Thanks for your suggestions Dan, I have added them to our ideas list and we will definitely try our best to do something about it! :)
Kind regards,
Bostjan
